The Clear Skies Foundation opted to participate in the global Giving Tuesday campaign this year and match up to $10,000 CAD in donations directed towards the One Drop Foundation\u2019s<\/a> mission to ensure sustainable access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene for communities around the world. The campaign raised a total of $32,000 CAD.<\/p>\n

Did you know:<\/strong>
\nNow more than ever, climate change<\/a> is threatening access to safe water. There are currently 2 billion people including children that do not have proper access and this number will continue to grow if we do not act now. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) #6 focuses on ensuring a clean and stable water supply and effective water sanitation for all people by the year 2030.<\/p>\n

As temperatures rise, droughts increase causing the depletion of surface water ecosystems, and ultimately the depletion of groundwater supplies leading to shortages in water needed for agriculture, potable water and non-potable water for the utilities and industrial sectors.<\/p>\n

\nThe 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/a> are a universal call to action to protect our environment and support the well-being of people, and one of the significant issues our world faces today is achieving those ambitious goals before 2030. Core to its mission, Clear Skies Investment Management aligns its investment decisions<\/a> with these goals. To maximize opportunities of realizing the goals, the foundation of Clear Skies has been established to donate a portion of its grants to charities actively tackling each SDGs.<\/p>\n
